Expert Care for Your Pet's Oral Health

Proper and consistent dental care is paramount to preventing and arresting the progression of periodontal disease, which, if left untreated, leads to tooth loss.

Teeth are best cleaned with ultrasonic cleaning, as this allows cleaning under the gum and the crown of the tooth where the periodontal disease starts to affect the periodontal membrane, which is what holds the tooth in the socket. This procedure requires anesthesia to be effectively done. Following cleaning, the crown surface is polished to discourage rapid return of the dental plaque.

Prior to dental cleaning, high-definition digital dental radiographs are taken to determine if any extractions need to be done. If extractions are needed, then nerve block injections are given for pain control.  Our high-speed air drill facilitates extractions.

Untreated dental disease can be very painful for pets and contribute to development of problems elsewhere in the body.
